You can watch thrill-seekers get their adrenaline rushes as they run off a cliff high above the Pacific Ocean—strapped into a hang glider or parasail—at the Torrey Pines Gliderport.

The on-shore winds and cliffs above the beach create an excellent updraft for hang gliders and parasailers to soar on as they fly up and down the coast. If you want to join in, you can purchase a tandem flight for $175-$225.

If you’re more inclined to keep your feet planted on terra firma, it’s still a great place to visit. You can simply enjoy the fresh ocean breeze, take in the panoramic coastal views, or grab a snack at the Cliffhanger Cafe. You can even take a short walk and check out golfers playing on the south course of the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course.
