San Diego is known for its craft breweries scattered across town. Novo Brazil at the Otay Ranch Mall is that, and much more.
Of course, Novo has its own selection of over two dozen beers, as well as a variety of hard Kombucha, Kombucha, and hard seltzers. There’s a long list of specialty cocktails and other beverages available, too. If you would like to take your favorite beer home with you, you can take it home in a growler or in cans.
In addition to their beverage menu, Novo Brazil has a great food menu with appetizers such as Brazilian Empanadas, Carne Asada fries, and fish and chips; they have main courses from salads to burgers to steak and fries; and there’s a small kids menu and dessert menu. Personally, I’m partial to their California burrito, Carne Asada Fries, and Buffalo Ranch Grilled Chicken sandwich.

The restaurant is very inviting, with a huge indoor dining space with garage doors that open to the outside and monster television screens to watch your favorite game, and there’s plenty of outdoor seating as well. While there is a hint of sports bar feel to the indoor seating, it’s usually pretty calm which allows for conversations to carry on. Families with kids are more than welcome, and the staff are friendly and attentive.
If you’re looking for a new place with a pretty chill vibe, tasty food, and craft beer, check out Novo Brazil Brewing in Otay Ranch Mall.
